The improvements being completed under Phase III begin near Arizona Street and continue east to State Road 51 and include the widening of the roadway to include a travel lane in east and west direction and a continuous center lane. Additionally, the project will provide:
- rehabilitation and widening of the 61st Avenue Bridge over Deep River
- intersection improvements at Wisconsin Street through the construction of a roundabout
- dedicated turn lanes from Wisconsin Street to SR51
- storm sewer improvements along the entire length including curb and gutter
- regional storm water detention east of Deep River
- sanitary sewer main and lateral installation
- water main installation
- sidewalk installation along the northern side of the corridor
- lighting improvements
- gateway & landscaping features from Deep River Drive to SR51
This project includes the first roundabout intersection in the City of Hobart. The City encourages drivers to familiarize themselves with the traffic operations of a roundabout.
